Bangkok & Pattaya 2013 - Bangkok Chapter

Continue with the Bangkok chapter! ;)

Once we reached Bangkok, We took tuk tuk (taxi famous in Bangkok) to our hotel, which is the Victory Executive Residence. As the name suggested, it is located near to Victory Monument with a 5-minutes walk to the Victory monument BTS Station.

Have a look at our hotel!

Grand interior.

We have the staffs to carry our heavy luggage to our room.

The century old style cabinet to hold the TV in place.

Our comfy big bed for the three of us.

And the mirror! :)

The planned activity on that night was the dinner cruise at Chao Phraya River where we have make online bookings months ago.

Shocked to see so many people waiting for the cruise.

Our cruise tickets.

Special dress up with cloth bought in Pattaya.
The print on the cloth are just so Thai!
Love the piece so much!

The girls!

Boarding teh cruise at River City Pier.

There's a few different cruise ships.

The one we took was Chao Phraya Princess II.

The interior of the dining place.

Cutlery, glass and napkin.

The buffet dinner arrangednicely on the table.
Food ranges from Thai tom yam, Japanese sushi, chinese dishes and desserts.

We took bits of each food to share among ourselves.

Three of us with the cocktails.

Her long awaited profile picture!
Sui zha bo.

Strong wind at the deck.

Here are some of the scenery that you will see during the cruise.

Bridge that looks better than Penang Bridge with some lights that made it looked stunning.

The Wat Arun looked so good in the lights.

Another souvenier from the cruise priced at 200 baht.

The cruise is quite a good activity as it let you experience and see the scenery along the main river in Bangkok, which is the Chao Phraya River.
I'd like to go again if they ever improved the taste of the food.
Just feel that the food is too normal for a cruise.

- 24.8.2013 -

AHA! This is one of my long awaited day too!
Guess what?
It's a shopping day at Chatuchak Weekend Market.
As the name suggested, it only opens during weekend and thus if you plan to do some shoppig here, you got to plan your itinerary well.

We took the BTS from Victory Monument station to Mo Chit station.
Just cross the bridge at Mo Chit station and follow the crowd and you will see Chatuchak Market.

Three of us in the BTS.

Shopping spree starts once you come down from the bridge!
My bag was already 10-15% filled with goods when i started to enter the market.

Resting while the girls bargaining.

Cheap cheap printed tops!

Roasted pork stall.
20 baht per stick with different flavours.

Yums yums

Pork ears and meat with cour and spicy sauce.

Our lunch to recharge ourselves.

Weather was so hot!

Drinks refreshment with them!

Handmade cards.
I bought one for someone special! :)

Colourful Luk-chup
Have no idea what it is and thus we never try.

On the way back to hotel. Look at the massive crowds.
Shop shop shop people!

Showing off our goodies!
Bags, shoes, clothes, and souveniers! :)
We were almost broke.

And that night we went to this famous Sky Bar at Lebua where th movie Hangover Part II was filmed here.
Dressed up with our new buys- the long dress which I love so so much!

Just love this picture!
Thanks to the lady photographer ;)

Of course there's a selfie picture to end the day!

25.8.2013

This morning we woke up at 6am in the morning to travel and visit the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market which is situated around 110km from Bangkok city. We got our package booked from the same company as we booked for the sea tour package in Pattaya.

Only two of us fro the trip.
Another one is pigging out in hotel enjoying the comfy bed.

Hello windy morning!

Some scenes on the way to the exact place of the floating market.

So here's the exact place of the market.
I heard that ancient people used to live on the boat, cook and do business on the boat.
Now they upgraded it to a tourism spot!
Mind you that the package does not include the boat ticket in floating market.
You need to buy another ticket which cost around 150baht if I'm not mistaken.

Traffic jam in the river that is full of boats.

I'm not kidding.
They are seriously cooking on the boat.

Some local stuff with salty mixed with sweet filling and then topped with chopped crispy garlic.

The hungry ghost.

The yummy fried popiah.

Mango sticky rice

The tour will bring you to another elephant riding spot too.
We have seen enough of elephants in Malaysia's zoo and so here we are sitting and rest ourselves while chilling with Mocha.

Myself.

After that we travelled back to Bangkok city and stayed at another hotel namely
It is nearby to the King power center too.
This hotel is simple and more trendy compared to the previous one.

The room with two single bed for us.

After settling down we went to King Power Center and have a walk.
It is a good place if you love to shop for branded stuffs.

Next, we headed to Asiatique Riverfront by tuk tuk.
Asiatique is a new place to attract tourist, where you can enjoy the scenery on a ferris wheel, eat a hearty meal, enjoy shopping of buying souveniers for your friends and family.

Two soh pos

The Chang beer elephant!

Bought our ticket to enjoy the view here.
A ticket for adult cost at 250baht.

We had the safety personnel to get us a photo!

The ferris wheel of Asiatique.

You will see the whole Asiatique and the construction.

Not much to comment about the ride cause we paid to experience it.

After having a long walk, we sat down and ordered coconut to chill ourselves.
Overpriced coconut compared to places out of Asiatique.

Saw some realy cute Disney pictured cups!

I did mentioned that Asiatique is another shopping heaven right?
Clothes there have better quality compared to those sold in Chatuchak and of course at higher price.
I love those dresses!

26.8.2013

Breakfast provided by the hotel.

Last morning in Bangkok!

Preparing to go out!

Bought this day tour ticket so that we can sit on the boat to travel N times to reach our destinations.
They gave you the booklet together which you can make full use of it.
There's map of the tourist attractions along the river side and the jetty number.

The map of the riverside.

The tour guide of the boat who will introduce about the boat services.

First destination: The Grand Palace
It is the home of King Rama during the ancient time and now it's a tourist spot.

Superb China crowd That made the place noisy with all those screams.

Love the blue skies with white clouds and green tress.

You need to buy a ticket to visit the inner part of the palace.
We did not visit cause the weather were killing us.

Finally a view place without a soul.

The grand reception place for visit.
We came here to chill ourselves avoiding the scorching sun.

Camwhore!

King rama park which is just opposite of the Palace.

Hello botak forehead!
