Highway Cafe

I went to this so called Highway Cafe yesterday with Andrew and Kelly Fum. Its my first time here to this restaurant, gotta try something new and tasty here recommended by the Mr. Backpacker!!! On the entrance there's a huge Taurus there and i know its welcoming me because i am a Taurus girl. wuahaha...i just think too much.

Settled down and looked through the menu and did not know what to order as there's a lot of things that u can order ranging from western food to the Malaysia local delights. so, i let Andrew make the decision. he ordered this,

Garlic Escargot
The garlic taste nice and the escargot is still okay for me..its actually my first time to eat escargot (i usually play with their family in the garden when i am still young and innocent). Still i can say that it taste not bad. haha

The second thing he ordered was

Nasi Bonjari
Its an Indonesian style Nasi Briyani serve with shrimp sambal, crispy chicken thigh, and a choice of rendang beef or curry chicken as side dish. the rendang beef taste nice as i like beef a lot and the chicken was fried until 'ngam ngam hou'. crispy enough but its not dry. and i think that the chicken taste like the one in Low yat's underground kopi shop that i like to go.

Kelly ordered chicken rice as she cannot tolerate spicy food and seafood. too bad!!!!

nom nom nom....finishing the meal and Andrew begins his uncle backpacker trip stories. awwww..its damn fun and exciting. i must go one day i swear!!!!! must have this crazy thing in my life's diary~~

P/S: i forgot to have a picture for three of us!!! and So sorry for the suckxsxs photos because camera is dead without the cable due to my stupidity!!! and thanks to Andrew for bringing us there~~

herbs presentation~

Wednesday was the day for presentation of the module called Complementary Medicine where we study about herbs that is useful for human. This presentation carried heavy marks and thus me and my group mates decided to make it a successful one!!!! we are taking Dang Gui ( Angelica sinensis) as our topic. And we found a lot of sources to grab as much info as we can. Besides, we also intended to make 2 dishes, which are the dang gui chicken and dang gui chicken soup. We have tried to cook the soup two days before the presentation so that we can have a tasty soup that can be presented to the lecturer. the process was rather hectic but i enjoyed it. because i like cooking. So i will tell u how i make this dishes.

Dang Gui Chicken
Ingredients: sliced Dang gui
Wolfberries
Red dates
Chicken drumstick

Methods:
1) Clean the chicken drumstick and marinate them with sufficient soy sauce and salt overnight.
2) Then, washed and chopped the sufficient amount of sliced dang gui, wolfberries, and red dates so that they are small in sized.
3) Then, mix the chopped ingredients with chicken in a plate. Then, add in some yellow rice wine to the chicken.
4) Lastly, steamed the chicken for around 10-15 minutes until they are cooked.

'Tah da'...here's a picture of the dish that i grabbed from internet because i have no time to take a picture of my successful dish!!!!

holiday is meant to be spent with my dearest too. we went to this new shop in Ipoh. There are real a lot of new shops opening in Ipoh. and i am going to treasure everyone of them during my semester break.

This is the shop, Bierlin Biez Hour located in Greentown, Ipoh. Its opposite of the Assam House.

Front of Berlin Bier Houz

Its a Restaurant of German theme. They have many different types of imported German beers and other types of liquors. i am sure it will be a nice place for people who like beers and liquors. the environment is nice and soothing, imagine yourself with a gang of good buddy, having a glass of german beer and chit chatting. What an enjoyable moment in life~~

the display cupboard showing all their collection of beers and liquor.

We intended to have our late lunch there but too bad there is no main dish from 3-6pm. therefore, we only ordered German Pork Knuckle. German is famous for pork and therefore we ordered this.

The german pork Knuckle

The lamb is really nice with the pepper sauce. As for the pork knuckle, i feel that its the same as the roast pork from chinese stall. maybe i should try the pork cheese burger the next time.
